FILM AND TELEVISION- CAMERA OBSCURA FILM SOCIETY

CAMERA OBSCURA FILM SOCIETY, 1957-1962

A subscription weekly film society created by Roger Ferragallo and Willy Werby to bring outstanding vintage, contemporary and experimental film to the bay area. It was also designed to encourage and support local and regional film makers to produce new experimental work and have it showcased at the San Francisco Contemporary Dancers Foundation Theater in San Francisco. Camera Obscura became the continuation of the San Francisco Museum of Art Film Society (Frank Stauffacher) which was active during the 40’s and early 50’s.
